Western makes every effort to ensure students are placed in a suitable residence. All our residence can accommodate the needs of students with common food and environmental allergies. However, some students may find that Residence Life cannot adequately meet their housing needs and may pursue alternate accommodations off campus.

Students with food allergies are advised to complete the Residence Priority Consideration Form on the myHousing Portal when completing their Residence Placement Questionnaire. A qualified healthcare professional, who is familiar with your dietary needs will be required to substantiate your request. During the latter part of the summer, as part of the "Residence On-boarding Process", students will also have an opportunity to share additional dietary information and give consent to share this information with Residence Dining.

It is also important that students with severe food allergies contact Hospitality Services, either prior to arriving (preferred), or upon arrival.

Please visit Residence site for more information on Students with Disabilities or Those Requiring Priority Consideration for Residence Placement.

A single meal or day of eating rich foods will not make or break an otherwise healthy eating pattern. What you eat on a regular daily basis is what matters most. Enjoy your occasional indulgences but follow a healthy meal plan most of the time.
